Menagerie

by Marnie L Norton

"Before the sun, all darkness kneels..." Kyra, a magical creature of unknown origin and immense power, has spent as long as she can remember in chains - another captive in Harkam’s Menagerie of Magical Creatures. Years of cruelty have left their mark, and Harkam’s rule is one of relentless abuse and fear. But no more. The archaic gods of old, forgotten and silent, have seen the pain and suffering being endured, and have finally twisted the barbaric cords of fate in her favour. Driven by desperation and a fierce need for freedom, Kyra makes a choice no one expects… and no one survives unscathed. Harkam, enraged and unwilling to lose control, answers with a weapon of his own. He purchases the one being capable of breaking her - Luric, the Prince of Darkness and Shadow. The Female Rage Series: A standalone high-stakes, enemies-to-lovers fantasy series that blends heart-pounding action with slow-burn romance that could very well destroy the world. The Female Rage series features high fantasy, rich political intrigue, dangerous magic, and fierce relationships. At its core, this series explores the power of women, female rage, and the consequences of underestimating us. Each standalone novel hosts new fantasy characters, epic magical systems, fantastic creatures, lethal enemies to lovers and how love can bloom even between the most unlikely of partners — and how that love might be their ultimate undoing. As the author, I’ve been yearning for FMCs who are not afraid of men. Who are the villains and heroes of their own stories. I wanted to read ruthless women who stand up to the patriarchy and laugh at the tears they collect from the men they destroy.
